As someone who has tried acupuncture and found that it helped to reduce back pain, this study showing the mechanisms at work in so doing caught my eye. The acupuncturist I saw, who has been an instructor in Seattle for many years, believed that the way acupuncture works on pain to be very similar to what this study shows.
