If you recall last January I mentioned the more frequent than typical quake swarms happening then in the area around Yellowstone Lake. It is likely nothing, but isn’t it interesting that in January of this year we see another increase above typical frequency levels. In this swarm of 46 quakes since January 13, 2010, as you can see from the map the activity is located well to the west of the area of Yellowstone Lake and the ground rise phenomenon under the lake. This series of small quakes are centered in the area of Buffalo Meadows quadrant on topographical maps.
